Social Development Department Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her aid and motivation to increasing South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) services through an engagement along with the agency's senior administrators at a strategic setting up session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the numerous social grant beneficiaries, who excelled within the 2024 matric examinations.
On the 724 156 full-time learners who registered for the National Senior Certificate (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, symbolizing 81% from the registered pupils during the training sector.
These learners realized a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This indicates the expense government is building inside the life of very poor and vulnerable young children is yielding a positive influence in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe stated.
Reflecting on the latest achievements, the Minister highlighted crucial milestones and ongoing priorities. She devoted to urgently addressing the issue of everlasting leadership appointments along with the scarcity of staff at most local workplaces.
Furthermore, the Minister highlighted the need for Group-based engagements and outreach actions.
"Our Local community is waiting for our enormous intensification of Local community outreach, where we prioritise underserved places to convey solutions closer to our persons," she reiterated.
